April 26, 1967: Holding his ginger cat "Avanga," Robin Lee Graham, 18, stands aboard his 24-foot sloop Dove at Thursday Island, where he is replenishing his supplies. Robin probably is the youngest person ever to attempt to circumnavigate the globe. He left San Pedro, California two years ago and reached here, after wending his way across the Pacific Ocean.
