    Description

MASSIVE Buffalo,(Elephant) Wooden 3 Clapper Bells,Thailand,Indo China, or......? Maybe Thailand, probably water Buffalo, I seem to remember hearing this tone last times I was in upper Thailand, can't remember these tones in India, nor Cambodia or Viet Nam, or wherever, but they could be a regional thing. Aaaaaanyway, for sale, pretty sure the wood is teak, a deep, thick sound when they are struck, really something. 3 clappers big, measures approx 12 by 9 inches, a heavy 3 pounds eight ounces.. Twine added for hanging, you can see where the previous twine or rawhide rubbed away at the wood, presumably these guys were used back when. Also smoothing inside where the clappers would have hit, nothing egregious.. My guess is water buffalo bells, a bit small for elephants, besides, all, save one......(a long story), the domesticated elephants I've seen over there (s) have had attendants with them, bad mojo to loose your elephant, hard to find a decent used elephant dealership over there, anywhere for that matter. I see one other bell sort of like this, a 2 clapper advertised being from Rajistan India, but I've been all around there, really can't remember anything like this sight or sound. Certainly open to any questions or edification, I don't pretend to know everything, far from it. Only guarantee I can make is these sound great in a sort of exotic way, and would grace any bell collection for sure.
