Description
This Haiti 100 Gourde banknote from 2016 is part of the commemorative series that was issued to honor the bicentennial of Haitian independence from France on January 1, 1804. Its obverse side depicts a portrait of revolutionary leader and Military General Henry Christophe. A depiction of war with a sailing ship, houses, soldiers fighting, and a flag are printed alongside the Generals portrait with the national emblem on the upper left. The reverse side features the historic Henry Christophe Citadel atop the Bonnet a LEveque mountain in Milot. The note is 158 x 64 mm in size and contains a windowed and holographic security thread to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would reflect a watermark image of the Coat of Arms, electrotype BRH, and cornerstones.
