Featured is a bronze Thai temple bell with embossed elephants. It is solid cast metal and very heavy. There is a good amount of patina; grey, brown, green, and slight tarnish. The bell was made to look like an old antique that has been weathered as the original Buddhist bells.  Ornate scrolls outline the top and base section.
This meditation bell was hand forged in northern Thailand. It was made as a cultural rendition of a ritual bell that is used in the Buddhist temples of many Asian countries. As a religious practice, there is usually a metal bell hanging at the entrance of most Thai temples.
Many people will place this oriental bell in their own sacred space to enhance their spirituality. The elephant design also is believed to bring good luck, especially since the trunk is up.
The Buddhist bell is a versatile home or office decoration as they can be placed in many rooms and locations. For instance, they make a splendid desk decor or office wall shelf accents. In your home, they are ideal for the living room coffee table or end table piece.
The elephant bell comes with a brass clapper and makes a wonderful chime when it is rung. There is a loop handle so the bell can hang.
